Did you know? The Great South Bay Bridge connecting the Robert Moses Causeway from mainland Long Island over the Great South Bay is the oldest Long Island bridge! Completed in 1938, it was the first bridge to span Long Island, connecting the Hampton Bays and Fire Island communities. This bridge carries up to 10 million vehicles per year, making it one of the most traveled highways on the East Coast.
